Static Structural Simulations of Industrial Pulley

A wheel or shaft designed to movement of loaded cable around it's circumference is called as pulley. Static structural cae simulation has performed on a industrial pulley design to predict the maximum deformation and stress using comsol. A pulley may also be called a sheave or drum and may have a groove between two flanges around its circumference. The drive element of a pulley system can be a rope, cable, belt, or chain that runs over the pulley inside the groove. This CAE image shows a industrial Pulley design under loading condition. A cad model is designed and structural simulation is performed to predict the stresses and strains during operating condition. In this model maximum stress generated on pulley block is plotted with red and minimal stress with blue colour. This pulley model can further be used for fatigue and failure analysis.
