Finite element structural analyis of Automotive Shock Absorber

A shock absorber is a mechanical device designed to absorb and damp shock impulses. The suspension springs are designed to convert the kinetic energy into another form of energy which is then dissipated. In vehicles the shock absorbers reduces the effects of travelling over rough grounds leading to improve quality and better vehicle handling. A shock absorber model is designed with CAD package and structural analysis has performed to predict the maximum stress and displacement values under different loading conditions. We can also use this model to predict the dynamic behaviour of shock absorber.
