Determination of turbulent flow stream in an Elbow Pipe

Elbow pipe is used to connect two pipes in perpendicular manner in piping operation. The term piping is often used to describe high-performance (e.g. high pressure, high flow, high temperature, hazardous materials) conveyance of fluids in specialized applications. The above CAE image shows the flow path, stream velocity and pressure plots in an elbow pipe. One end is defined as inlet where the other end as outlet with inlet velocity and outlet pressure boundary condition. Water is considered as working fluid for this analysis. The above CAE model can further be used to predict the amount of corrosion using finite element analysis.
