Numerical Thermal Analysis of Single Cylinder Engine Block

Engine block is an integrated structural part of reciprocating engine and also called as cylinder block. Engine blocks are made of cast iron with a core called as cylinder. Cylinder is designed to guide the reciprocating motion of piston. A cylinder head is attached to top of the block to seal the cylinder and create closed space for combution process. In this cae analysis a single cylinder internal combustion block is analysed thermally for temperature distribution. The 3d model of engine block is designed using cad package and thermal analysis is performed using numerical analysis tool. The above CAE image shows the maximum temperature distribution in yellow and minimal in red colour while solved with static solver.
