Thermal Analysis of Automotive Disk Brake
Disc brake is a type of brake that uses callipers to squeeze pairs of pads against a disc in order to create friction which will retards the rotation of wheel. The energy of motion is converted to heat, which must be dissipated. Due to sudden braking of the vehicle, brakes pads are undergo heavy friction which will generate large heat, leads to braking fail. In this model the pad of a disc brake is designed and performed thermal analysis to predict the maximum temperature distribution due to friction. The maximum temperature is shown with red and minimal temperature with blue colour respectively.
